Kumho Tyres CRUGEN HP71 Reviews

Don’t put them on a Mercedes GLE! They can’t handle the weight or the power. Gives the traction control a workout with anything above average acceleration. Tyre chunking suddenly around 15000 km. And side wall cracking. Outer tread worn out by 30,000. Tyres get very hot under normal load and general handling is unpleasant and unpredictable when towing a 2 tonne caravan. 

Only had these tyres on for 1.5 years and the tread is cracked and peeling off. No off roading done and I expected them to last longer than this.

For 9 years I had always replaced my OEM Dunlop SP's, but I started to think that tyre technology must have moved on over the last 10 years. So, as my previous Subarus always had Kumo tyres I decided to give them a go once again.  As the Kumo's were much  cheaper, that sealed the deal. The Crugen HP 71's have been incredible. The car now feels like I have added Air Suspension, the ride is that much better. The noise is about 40% better. Handling has also improved. At the start I was oversteering in corners and had to back off until I got used to the new tyres better cornering. Totally blown away as to how much better these tyres are.

Kumho are buying these tires back at 70% of their cost. The front two tires look like we have shredded them with aggressive driving on gravel or coral reef. They were rotated to the back and now the front two are doing the same within two weeks of driving. We are 99% city and hwy drivers. The tires were fine in all other categories except for the chunks of tire missing.

Just got them, but they feel great! Can't say much more. Stan at Continental Tyres was brilliant! Discussed the adjustments made to wheel alignment and provided a diagram with the details. Never had that before. Whole experience was great, Thoroughly recommend Continental Tyres.

The tyres were on the car when I purchased it and whilst they’re not inspiring they seem alright in dry weather, the wet brings with it a lack of grip in some situations. They wouldn’t be my first choice.
