When new they were pretty good. Quiet, great on road both dry and wet. Off road performance they have never let me down although haven't really gone anywhere too challenging. As they have aged from around 30000k's, the wet weather performance has dropped off dramatically. The noise level has increased although diabolical. Currently at 55000 k's and they are pretty spent. Will be looking to something else.

Were fantastic for the first 35,000kms but have since developed some pretty loud road noise. Seems to be worse at around the 50 -80kph mark and then seems to taper off a bit. Sill got a ton of tread on them so won't be changing them out for a while yet.

Travelled 20,000kms towing a 1.8tonne van on bitumen and about 10,000 kms without towing which includes 6,000kms of off road including the Gibb River Road twice. My next trip towing will cause me to replace them after about 10,000kms. I have not included the spare in my tyre rotations. I find the rear tires wear at more that twice the rate of the front ones when towing which is similar to what I have found with other tyre makes.

UPDATE: The noise ended up being faulty rear wheel bearings that the VW dealer misdiagnosed. So they aren't noisy at all and would definitely recommend these tyres.

Chose these a few years back with the intention of taking the car off road more. My concern at the time was getting the balance right as the car would still be on city streets and highways 95% of the time. Happy to report that these tyres performed fantastically off road when I could get there. No issues on gravel, clay or the soft sand on Fraser. The discovery wheels did hinder me more than anything (19”) as it limits your low PSI options, but that’s not the tyres fault. On bitumen, these tyres are superb. They last forever and offer hardly any road noise. I did find them a little tight on roundabouts though, maybe they just grip too well ? Only reason I’m taking mine off are for a wheel size change away from the 19” and the desire to try something more aggressive looking. Highly recommend this tyre.

Great tyres for the wet and dry condition. Extremely capable off-road, and they might even have beaten out another car of the same make and model with Wildpeaks on them on we clay and tree root surfaces 😜 Great on the sand too. They balloon out quite well for 18” tyres. I would recommend these tyres, especially if you pick them up during Black Friday sales.

These are the best tyres I have ever driven on and whats more thaye have a puncture warranty . (that the dealer carried on about). But not Pirelli. Pirelli came to the Party and sorted the issue super fast as it was a warranty for a month and as it happened on the 31st day. The dealer tried to carron about it being on the 31st day(to bad )the customer won that won. Any rate an absolutely brilliant tyre. Have children and travelalot. I fully back these model tyres and for someone who does 550 kms to and from work not including any weekend work . I did not ever aquaplane once in these tyres and that is a huge call to make but it is true. These tyres truly are a work of the gods. Thanks Pirelli HQ in Sydney for helping us out.

One tyre failed catastrophically with a section of the bead separating from the carcase. A claim under the Road Hazards Warranty was refused - it took nearly 2 weeks and phone calls from the the dealer and I to get this determination. At that stage the tyre was still inflated and it wasn't until the tyre was removed from the rim that the extent of the failure was revealed. I contacted the manufacturer through the web contact page again to advise then that I intended to make this defect known. I got a response requesting I return the tyre to the dealer. I replied that I longer had the tyre as it had been replaced and if I could recover it return to the dealer would cost 3 hours driving time plus fuel. I haven't had a response! So be very wary if you are contemplating purchasing these tyres.

One of my tyres failed catastrophically with the bead separating from the carcase at about 35k kms. I made a claim under the Road Hazards Warranty which Pirelli rejected after 2 weeks and both the dealer and I chasing up for a decision. When the tyre was taken off the wheel the full extent of the defect was revealed, a split almost full depth of the carcase about 20cm long. The dealer said he'd never anything like it and opined that it was a manufacturing defect. I contacted Pirelli again through their web contact page to say I felt obliged to make this issue public as I consider myself lucky I saw the damage before I drove on it. (The tyre amazingly was still inflated). There's a good chance that it would have 'blown out' with very serious consequences. Pirelli responded to request that I return the tyre to the dealer. I replied that this was difficult or impossible as I no longer have the tyre (its been replaced) and if could recover it I live 100 kms from the dealer it isn't practical to return it. There's been no further response from Pirelli. So be very wary of Pirelli tyres.

I've had these tyres for about 15,000km / about a year and a half (low km thanks to Melbourne's covid lock downs!!!) They have never let me down. I've done maybe 400-500km of off road driving with them, ranging from mild rock crawls to extremely sharp jagged rocks, no sand driving yet. I bought them primarily to be an on road tyre, with the ability to go off roading. On the pavement they're excellent... Noise does increase as they wear in, but nothing like the other reviews suggest. Wet, dry, gravel, no problem! Off road is where they shine. I once went up a wet grassy hill of about 35 degree incline just to see how they would go... Absolutely no problem. I've been in wet hilly clay, didn't let me down. The tread is just as deep as when I bought them 15,000km ago. Stones, pebbles, rocks don't stick in the tread, they are ejected just as the literature suggests. Forget everyone's complaints about noise, it's a non issue and well worth the compromise of having an all terrain tyre. I wish they had more plies on the sidewalls for extra security, but I've driven through very sharp rocks where I was certain I would get a puncture, but didn't. I really can't fault these tyres and would recommend them highly!
